Sunday morning. Aalarm clock ring at 7am.

Yerrrrrr !!! feel like wanna continue sleeping.

But I know I have a beautiful eating trip waiting for me.

So, quickly get up and walk infront of my laptop. What do I do seven early eight early in front of my laptop? Apa lagi, curi-curi in Barn Buddy lor. After some curi-curi, go wake Seong Seong up. Both of us get ready for our beautiful trip.

We go to YeongYeong house to fetch her and LaiLai. Here start our trip…

Where are we going? As mention in the blog title, we are heading to Kulim to try out the BEST Ban Chean Kuey in Kulim. This Ban Chean Kuey is a mobile Ban Chean Kuey stall where they are selling Ban Chean Kuey on a van.

This Ban Chean Kuey stall is selling on daily basis in front of the BIGGEST PASAR IN KULIM (source by trustable party). The pasar is nearby behind MayBank and near a Police Station.

We tried almost all type of Ban Chean Kuey available in this stall and is all custom made specially only for us. Haha. Envy lerr.

I will share pictures of some of the Ban Chean Kuey that tried.

Normal Ban Chean Kuey

Ban Chean Kuey with Banana.

Ban Chean Kuey with Egg + Jagung + Kacang

Ban Chean Kuey with Sausage + Jagung + Kacang

There are few more flavor that we tried where I do not have the picture to show here. One of the recommended but not here is Plain Ban Chean Kuey where only have planta. Wow, that is really simple and nice.

The best thing in this trip is that we get to try make our own Ban Chean Kuey. First time making Ban Chean Kuey for 4 of us (myself, Seong Seong, YeongYeong & LaiLai).

Wanna see how our self-service Ban Chean Kuey looks like?

Looks nice ma hor? not much different with normal Ban Chean Kuey ma hor. Good Job.

Time to taste our self-service Ban Chean Kuey.

Emmm!! Delicious!! Just that the kuey is not as crispy and due to we all hand slow leg slow that cause the skin become slightly thicker.

Interested to know who is the Sifu that teaches us how to do Ban Chean Kuey. Here you go…

Thank you Roger for the BEST Ban Chean Kuey in Kulim.

We also visitind few more other places in this trip. Will share more in next post.

See me in my next post.

AirAsia Flight Delay

Posted by: popoyan  /  Category: Travelling

What is the first thing came into your mind when see the above logo?

Now everyone can fly
Cheap price
Frequent flight delay

I have been on AirAsia for twice and both flight were on-time and I’m telling people that not too bad from my own experience.

Today, I would like to change my statement again. Why?

Seong Seong went to KL (from Penang to LCCT) yesterday and his flight delayed for 1 hour (from 8.50pm to 9.50pm).

Today on hsi way back from KL to Penang, his flight suppose to be 7.00pm and guess what, the flight delay again.

How long do you think the flight is delayed today? The flight was delayed to 10.10pm (3 hours 10 minutes of delay) and Seong Seong waited in LCCT for the few hours. Pity Seong Seong. Lucky still got CoffeeBean where he can get online.

Finally, the plane has arrive and Seong Seong get onboard on time and thinking that he will be able to see me in another 1 hour time.  Hehe… Unfortunately, the flight delay again for around 15 minutes and fly only around 10.25pm.

I drive and reach Penang Airport at 11pm to fetch Seong Seong and the flight arrived only around 11.30pm and by the time Seong Seong walk out from airport is already 11.45pm. We reach home around 12 midnight.

Let’s do some very simple calculation here.

Total hour delayed
= 1 hr + 3hr 10 min  + 15 min
= 4 hr 25 min

Total flight
= 2 (from myself) + 2 (from Seong Seong)
= 4

Average delay per trip
= 4 hr 25 min / 4
= 1 hr 6 min

So, the next time you plan to take any airasia flight, get ready with 1 hour of delay in every flight. Hahaha …

I checked from AirAsia website and found the below.

In accordance with industry standards, an ‘on-time’ departure is one that departs from the designated bay no more than 15 minutes from the scheduled departure time.

Below is the statistic for their flight on-time performance.

Malacca Trip

Posted by: popoyan  /  Category: Travelling

Finally, back in Penang. Really a very tiring trip of 2 days trip to Malacca.

Received invitation from my coursemate from FIST MMU few weeks back inviting meand my husband to her wedding dinner in Malacca on 28-Feb-09 and we re so excited that time. Why? few reasons:

1) got friend wedding (Congratulation to you Huei Nee and Min Eyaw)
2) got reason to travel down to Malacca
3) can eat the Chicken Rice Ball
4) got chance to gather with some of the coursemate from MMU
5) can refresh all the sweet memory when me and my husband was studying in Malacca

We (me and my husband) travel down to Malacca right after work on Friday (27-Feb-09). We left office around 5.30pm got trapped in traffic jam before entering the Penang Bridge as usual and got another traffic jam in the tunnel bearby Ipoh due to there is a lorry broke down and take up 1 of the lane of the PLUS.

Our journey was smooth the 2 spot mentioned above and we reach Malacca around 2.00am (28-Feb-09) and checked in the htel we booked earlier Fenix Inn nearby Mahkota Parade. We fall sleep imediately right after changing cloth after reaching the hotel. The hotel is a 3-Star hotel. It is very clean and consider spacious at the rate of RM118/night. This is a 3 years old hotel but everything inside still looks very new and clean.

Woke up early in the morning and walk walk around some shop lot nearby hotel to search for breakfast and we have got some nice breakfast. After that, we also walked to Dataran Pahlawan and taken some pictures. Then we went back to hotel and pack up all our belongings and check out.

After checkout, we went to eat my favourite chicken rice ball near Jonker Street. Wow, queue is long like usual but we manage to get in fast we only 2 of us and we share table with others. We share table with a young couple with a son and there are from KL. Had some very general chatting with them and their son (2 years old) is so cute.

After lunch, we walk along Jonker Street for some shopping. So hot walking under the hot sun. I still prefer Jonker Walk at night where it is more cooling and much more small small little thing that  can buy and eat. We do bought something from this Jonker Walk as listed below:

1) a dress for myself
2) a pair of couple t-shirt for me and my husband
3) a toy for Chyi
4)  a toy for Kang
5) chinese chess set for Xien
6) magnetic chinese chess for our own
7) a necklace for myself

My fried has book an apartment for few of us which come from “outstation” to overnight in Malacca. We have checked in to the hotel, take bath and prepare for the dinner. Feeling so happy and excited when we reach the restaurant for this wedding dinner as we saw so many of our coursemate around. We have took quite a lot of picture together. The food for this reataurant is not bad.

Most of my friend went for clubbing after the dinner and we did nto follow as I’m a bit tired. We went to a place nearby our hotel where we can see the “Eye On Malaysia” and taken some photo. Why we did not take a ride on “Eye On Malaysia”? unfortunately, the “Eye On Malaysia”  is under maintenance during my trip to Malacca. Too bad. Then we went back to hotel and prepare to rest.

The next morning (01-Mar-09), we wake up early as well and went for breakfast with my friend at Jalan Ong Kim Wee. The dim dum shop has a lot of variety and their dim sum taste very good. After that, my friend bring us to a shop to buy some freashly baked buiscuit and went back to Jonker Street again to buy some freshly base pineapple tart to be bring back for family member and colleague.

After that, we left Malacca town and make a turn into Bukit Beruang to take a look at MMU and place that we stay during our studies. Not much changes there. Then we head to the north to KL.

Meet my sister in KL (Sunway Pyramid). We had our lunch there at Kim Gary Sunway Pyramid and then heading north again back to Penang. Rain come and go along the north south highway. There is good and bad for rain being “now you see, now you no”. Good thing is that no need to travel under the hot sun and bad thing is that hard to drive while raining heavily.

We reach Penang around 8+pm and so tired. Real tired. Dinner is as simple as a box of chocolate milk. Wanna go oioi again liao. Will write more and include more picture about this trip when I have time.
